Residential Supports at Paradigm are utilized to assist the person served in the attainment, retention, or improvement in skills related to activities of daily living, including personal grooming and cleanliness, bed making and household chores, eating and the preparation of food, personal finance management, and the social and adaptive skills essential to allow the person to live independently as possible in a community setting.
Paradigm will assist in the habilitation process in various ways including training and verbal instruction combined with elements of support, supervision and engaging participation to echo the natural flow of training, practice of skills, and other activities as they occur during the natural course of the person's day. Residential supports includes habilitation and training activities, as well as care and assistance with activities of daily living when the person is dependent on others to ensure health and safety. Verbal exchanges with the person are intended to achieve the outcomes outlined within the person centered plan. Support and supervision of the person's activities to maintain skills gained through habilitation and training is also an appropriate goal of Residential Supports.
